Luv Paws Cattery is located in Southwest Ranches, Florida. We breed Persians and Himalayans and specialize in chocolate and lilac point Himalayans, but we have most other colors. Currently we have five dames and three sires. All our cats are PKD negative.

The Himalayan was initially bred in the early 30's and 40's as a cross-breed between the Persian and the Siamese. The Himalayan resembles the Persian, with a large, short, heavy body that is low to the ground. The Himalayan's beautiful pointed coat color distinguishes it from its Persian cousins. The points come in blue, lilac, chocolate, seal, red and cream, as well as tortie and lynx versions of these colors. A friendly, mischievous cat, the Himalayan is also a gentle and adaptable pet.

According to the Cat Fancier's Association:

"The Himalayan is one of the most popular of all Persians. The Himalayan is shown in the following point colors: chocolate, seal, lilac, blue, red, cream tortie, blue-cream, chocolate-tortie, lilac-cream, seal lynx, blue lynx, red lynx, cream lynx, tortie lynx, blue-cream lynx, chocolate lynx, lilac lynx, chocolate-tortie lynx and lilac-cream lynx. Color is restricted to the facial mask and extremities with the body of various shades of white to fawn. Himalayans were developed by breeding Persians to Siamese to combine the Siamese point coloring with Persian type. After many years of cross breeding they were approved as accepted color variations of Persians. All must have deep vivid blue eyes as eyes other than blue are a disqualification."
